Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to create?
The design of your site very much depends on the amount of content provided and required. We aim to have a quick turnaround for your website so you have a presence as soon as possible. Typical turnaround for a site is around 4 weeks from initial agreement to site launch.
How much will it cost?
It is an old cliche that says 'it depends on what's involved'. Sadly it is true to a degree. A standard 3 page site with a few images and text will obviously differ from a 3 page site which has a newsletter facility, billing and products built in. For that reason it is difficult to put a price on what you want. All of our websites will have the structure in place for expansion. If you find that in 6 months you want another contact form added, the backbone of the site is already there and will be able to take the form easily.
What is the process for creating my site?
When you first allow us to create a site for you, we will meet with you to discuss how you want your site to look in general. From that discussion, we will create an outline site showing you roughly how it will look. If you are happy with the design, we proceed from there putting content and information on, resulting in the finished site soon after.
Can I have input into the design?
Ultimately this is your site, not ours so how it looks will be decided by you. If you have an idea of how you would like the site to look, we will create that for you.
I don't need the site for 6 months, can you advise me now?
We are happy to meet with you to discuss your needs and advise the best way to get to where you need to be. When the time comes, much of the groundwork will have been done so we can complete the process in a slightly shorter time.
I already have a site, can you help?
If you have a site in place but wish to have either a slight redesign or complete new build; we can help. A site should be changed periodically to keep it fresh and up to date. We will be happy to help you through the process by making the changes to your site. If you previously dealt with another company, we can discuss the requirements with them so we can gain access to your site files etc. so we can upload the new information.
Have you been doing this long?
We have been involved in web and database design since 1998 so, as you can imagine have seen some changes in that time. We have a wealth of experience to draw on and have been involved with a number of high-profile clients.
How many email addresses can I have?
Simply put, as many as like! There is no limit on the number of email addresses you can have.
Am I limited to the number of pages on my site?
Again, as many as you like. The type of sites we build are not typical .html sites which were the norm several years ago (and are sadly still the norm for some companies these days). Our work is on dynamic, database-driven sites which allow you the freedom to create pages as you go along with ease. All pages created will look and feel the same as every other page on your site with the minimum of effort. Some of our existing clients like to manage their own site. In doing so, they create new pages for themselves as required.
Can I update my new website myself?
You can manage your own site of you wish to do so. On initial launch, we will show you how your site works to the point you can add, change and remove pages if you wish. You can have as muchb or as littl econtrol over the management of your site as you wish.
What happens after the site is built?
Once your site has been launched, we will take the lead from you. We will be as involved as you need us to be. Some clients like us to be involved in the general running of the site for them, while others like to do it themselves. We currently update some client sites on a monthly basis at their request. This will be entirely up to you how much involvement we have.
Will you show me how to manage the site?
Once the site has been launched, we will show you how to manage the 'backend' of your site (the part the public don't see). We want you to be comfortable in where everything sits on your site if you so wish. For that reason we ensure you have as much information and documentation as you need to maintain your new website.
